Missionaries to the Prisoners and Sick in Latin America

ABOUT US

After attending language school in Guatemala, Andy moved to the Monterrey, Mexico area in May 1994.  He ministered more than eight years in jails and prisons of the Monterrey metropolitan area and Saltillo.  In the year 2002, an associate pastor of a Center of Faith church and Andy organized the first "Encounter With Jesus" retreats inside of a Mexican prison.  Also, they were the first ministers to start a cell group system called "The Principle of the Twelve" inside of a Mexican prison.  From this, they started two leaders' schools for the Christian inmates in this prison.

In July 2002, Andy moved to Aguascalientes, Mexico, where he now lives with his wife Aida.  When he moved to Mexico, he was not married.  After being a missionary in Mexico for 15 years, he realized that "it is not good for man to be alone".  Through a Christian website designed for Christian singles looking for their mate, Andy found Aida!  They were married a year later in Colombia, where Aida is from, and had their honeymoon there.   Aida was the associate pastor at the church she attended in Barranquia, Colombia.  She was also involved in hospital ministry there.

When Andy was single in Aguascalientes, he not only ministered in the prisons in Aguascalientes, but in the states of Zacatecas, Guanajuato, and San Luis Potosi as well.  However, after he married Aida, we decided to not minister so much outside of Aguascalientes and concentrate more on broadening our ministry here.  We are now focusing on ministering to the families of the prisoners in Aguascalientes as well.  We are preparing these families to have a Christian environment for these prisoners to go back to when they are released from prison.  We have seen spiritual growth in the families we are now ministering to.

Aida ministers to patients every week in the hospital in the photo below on the right.  She also ministers to young women every week in a Christian drug rehab home. The vast majority of the girls in this home are adolescents that come from very disfuntional homes.  She teaches inner healing to these girls and has been a great blessing to them.  She has a special annointing to minister to women and children.

Although both of us have bachelor degrees in other fields, we have both studied for the ministry.  Andy is a graduate of Rhema Bible Training Center in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma (near Tulsa).  Since marrying Andy and moving to Aguascalientes, Aida has gotten her bachelor's and masters degree in theology.  We are still learning!

Andy has ministerial credentials with Faith Christian Fellowship International in Tulsa, Oklahoma and also with Rhema Ministerial Association International.  Faith Christian Fellowship Worldwide is the legal sponsor of our ministers visas in Mexico.  Both of us are now legal permanent residents here in Mexico.

Andy is the founder and director of "Rescatados Para Cristo" (Rescued for Christ)

based here in Aguascalientes.  We minister in prisons, jails, drug and alcohol rehab homes, to families of prisoners, and, when we are invited, we preach in Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.  Our goal is to make disciples for Christ out of those who have been in prison, in drug and/or alcohol addiction, and of the family members of those who have these problems.  There are four of us in the "Rescatados Para Cristo" team that ministers in the Aguascalientes prisons.  One of us has services for the general population of the prison who are not in restricted cell blocks.  Each of the other three team members goes to a restricted cell block to have services there.  In this manner, we are able to minister to more prisoners with the Word of God.  Ministering with Andy now is a pastor and two other men who were drug addicts before coming to Christ.  (The two ex-drug addicts attract more men to their meetings in the restricted cell blocks than Andy does.)  Thank God, we have seen an increase in the attendance of our services.

Thanks to the Lord, Andy has seen many prisoners come to the Lord Jesus Christ through his ministry to the prisoners in Latin America.  Aida has impacted many patients, their families in the hospital, and many young desperate women in the drug rehab home with the Word of God.  But, we do not consider ourselves to be "lone rangers" in the ministry.  As members of the Aguascalientes Evangelical Ministerial Alliance, we work with other ministers here to reach people in Mexico and beyond with the Gospel.
